About Me

Hello there! My name is Ashton Allison and I am a Kindergarten teacher in Central Texas. After graduating from Baylor University (sic 'em bears!) in 2012, I started teaching second grade in a very small school district. I was the ONLY second grade teacher that year--yikes! I felt like I was running around all year like a chicken with my head cut off! Ha! It was an emotional roller-coaster of a year but I learned A LOT. The following school year I had the opportunity to move down the hall to teach Kindergarten and I jumped at the chance to teach a younger grade level, (alongside a veteran teacher--hooray for a team!). I had such a great time with my Kinder kiddos and knew pretty early on in the year that Kindergarten is where my heart belonged. This coming year I will be moving school districts but staying in Kindergarten. The 2015-2016 year will make my third year of teaching overall.

My sweet hubs of 2 years is a software engineer. We grew up in the same small town and started dating in high school when we were 15 and 17. Our parents went to school together and even our grandfathers were good friends. It was meant to be! He is my best friend. We also have a fur baby, Annabelle. I love our little family. 

When I started teaching in 2013, I found other that I enjoyed creating my own classroom resources and decorations. I looked to other teacher blogs to find ideas and inspiration. Over the past two years I have learned so much and made friends in different parts of the country just from digging through blogs and Teachers pay Teachers.

So that's a little bit about all things me! I am a Jesus following, wife, teacher, and dog mom. I love spending time with my family, shopping, Mexican food, iced coffee, cooking delicious gluten free meals, the color pink, anything chevron or cheetah print, vanilla Coke zero, children's books and so much more!
